Avada alternatives for Shopify
Avada SEO & Image Optimizer is a good app — 4.9★ across 4,327 reviews. But it is not right for everyone. Here are six alternatives, including ours, and who each one actually suits.
Why merchants look for a Avada alternative
- 01Core Web Vitals reporting is lab-based; there is no real-visitor field data or per-script attribution.
- 02The jump from Pro to Enterprise is $65/mo with consulting as the main differentiator.
- 03No public documentation on what happens to your SEO fields after uninstall.
And to be fair: one of the most generous free plans in the category — 100 image optimizations and 100 AI credits.
Six alternatives worth your time.
Ranked by who they suit, not by who pays us — nobody pays us.
1. ShopSEO — ours, and we will say so
Free · $19.99You want the whole audit visible on the free plan rather than 20 runs a month, and you want accessibility and structured-data validation included. Two plans instead of four, the complete audit free, and a written fix for each finding. Brand new though — launched July 2026, with no reviews yet.
2. Booster
4.8★ · 5,262 reviewsFree · Pro $39/mo ($349/yr) · Premium $69/mo ($619/yr)
Best for: You want the app with the longest review history in the category and are comfortable paying $69/mo to unlock image compression.
Watch out for: Image compression is gated behind the $69 Premium tier; the free plan does alt text only.
ShopSEO vs Booster3. TinySEO
5.0★ · ~2,273 reviewsFree to install · Beginner $14/mo · Advanced $23/mo · Expert $49/mo
Best for: You are price-sensitive, have a small catalog, and want the lowest monthly entry point in the category.
Watch out for: Per-image overage at $0.03 makes bills unpredictable for large catalogs — a recurring theme in reviews across this pricing model.
ShopSEO vs TinySEO4. SearchPie
4.9★ · 2,355 reviewsStarter Free · Premium $39/mo ($374.40/yr) · Enterprise $99/mo ($950.40/yr)
Best for: You want the fastest support response in the category and will pay $99 for unlimited compression.
Watch out for: The tier jump is steep: 500 images on Premium to unlimited on Enterprise, at $39 → $99.
ShopSEO vs SearchPie5. Smart SEO
4.9★ · 921 reviewsFree · Pro $9.99/mo · Business $19.99/mo · Premium $29.99/mo
Best for: Budget is the deciding factor and you want the cheapest paid tier available.
Watch out for: A publicly documented review reports that on uninstall, H1/H2/H3 tags, SEO titles and meta descriptions were removed and the reviewer's site structure was damaged. This is the exact failure mode our rollback design exists to prevent.
ShopSEO vs Smart SEO6. Yoast
4.6★ · 162 reviewsFlat $19/mo ($190/yr — 12 months for the price of 10)
Best for: You write a lot of content, want best-in-class editorial guidance, and already have images and speed handled elsewhere.
Watch out for: No image optimization or compression at all — it is a content-and-metadata tool.

Leaving safely.
Usually one of three reasons: core Web Vitals reporting is lab-based; there is no real-visitor field data or per-script attribution. If none of those affect you, staying is a perfectly reasonable decision.
That depends on how Avada stores it. If an app renders SEO values from its own database rather than writing them into Shopify's fields, uninstalling empties them. Before you cancel anything, export what you have and check a handful of product pages with the app paused.
Install the new app alongside the old one, import rather than migrate, and run both for a week. Nothing about Shopify prevents two SEO apps coexisting temporarily — just make sure only one of them is writing schema, or you will emit conflicting blocks.
Try one before you cancel the other.
Install ShopSEO free, run your first audit in under a minute, and roll back anything you do not like. No credit card, no theme edits, no lock-in.
