Who we are

ShopSEO: Content Generator is a Shopify app operated by Curious Objects. It writes product descriptions from the product information already in your store, using AI, and saves them back to your products once you approve them.

Information we collect

Store and account information. When you install the app, Shopify provides the session details needed to authenticate your store, such as your shop domain, access token, session state, and the access scopes you granted.

Product content we process. To write and save descriptions, we read product data through Shopify’s Admin API. That can include product titles, existing descriptions, product type, vendor, tags, variant option names and values, and featured image URLs. When you save a draft, we write the new description back to that product.

Details you add. Before generating a draft you can enter extra details about a product, along with a tone and length. We use what you type only to produce that draft.

Support messages and technical logs. If you contact us for help, we receive the information you choose to share. We also may collect diagnostic logs and basic technical data when the app runs so we can keep it working reliably.

We do not intentionally collect your customers’ personal information, such as names, addresses, orders, or payment details. The app reads and writes product content only.

How drafts are generated

Descriptions are written by Google’s Gemini API. When you generate a draft, we send that product’s details and any notes you added to Google so a description can be returned. Google processes that request under its own terms in order to produce the result.

We do not send customer data, order data, or payment data to the AI provider, and we do not use your store content to train models. Drafts are not published automatically: nothing changes on your storefront until you review a draft and choose to save it.

How we use information

• To authenticate your Shopify store and operate the app;

We do not sell your information or use your store data for advertising.

How we share information

We share information only with Google, as the AI provider that generates drafts, and with trusted service providers that help us host, secure, and support the app; when required by law or to respond to valid legal requests; to protect the rights, safety, and property of the app and its users; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Data retention

The app does not keep a copy of your catalog. Session records are held only for as long as they are needed to authenticate your store, and are deleted when you uninstall the app or when Shopify asks us to erase your shop’s data. A draft exists only in your browser until you save it; once saved, the description lives on your product in Shopify, where you can edit or remove it at any time.

Data security

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or loss. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect the data we handle.
